  I visited the Cafe des Artiste in Fallbrook, CA, recently and was impressed by the restaurant's pleasant ambiance and decor. They are located in the Art Center and host several fine paintings and sculptures throughout the restaurant.
  
  The owner, Michael, a former New Yorker, was friendly and personable and very happy to share the history of some of the art pieces in the main dining room.
  
  Aside from the delicious hors d ‘oeuvres he created for us, I was excited to find that he also makes the best New York Egg Cream on the west coast. My friends and I all had a round of them, and I felt myself transported back in time to the soda fountains of my youth.
  
  There is much more to say, but not enough space on this site. I will definitely return to Cafe des Artiste, and I recommend them highly. Check out their website for more information.

  I always like coming home. This July 2015 was so very special to me because I was able to visit, eat,drink and enjoy the wonderful company of Michael and his staff. Truly this is Fallbrook's treasure! Whether it is for a cup of joe and a pastry, lunch or dinner Cafe Des Artistes is a place of hometown heart and art.
